Session 1

Start with the basics of English sounds: th and r, Chapters 1–3 (letters and sounds, /a:/ vs. /ʌ/, and /ɜ:/). Finish with role-play.

Session 2

Review the previous session, then practice the vowel sounds i and oo. Chapters 4–5 (/i:/ vs. /ɪ/, and /u:/ vs. /ʊ/). Finish with role-play.

Session 3

Review the previous session, then practice o, or, and ea. Chapters 6–7 (/ɒ/ vs. /ɔ:/, and /e/ vs. /æ:/). Finish with role-play.

Session 4

Bring together everything from the four sessions. Chapters 8–10 (/ɪə/ vs. /eə/, /eɪ/ /aɪ/ /ɔɪ/, and /əʊ/ vs. /aʊ/). Finish with role-play.

What Our Students Say

Student A

In other one-on-one lessons, I sometimes ended up just listening to the teacher talk. Here, the teacher properly points out my mistakes and explains things on the whiteboard, which I really appreciate.

Student S

I've gradually overcome my discomfort with speaking English. I no longer shy away when visitors ask me for directions. Perhaps because I've had more opportunities to use English, my TOEIC score has improved too.

Student F

The teacher introduces topics that make it easy to talk and explains the background behind word meanings when we read English texts. I can really feel myself improving.
