John: I have no clue. Did you ask Mark in the sales department?

Rick: We played a prank on Sam and everyone laughed at him.

Noriko: That’s terrible.

Rick: But he was a good sport and laughed alongside the rest of us.

I’ll catch you later: I’ll see you later.

Tim: Hey buddy, I’ll catch you later. Going to meet some friends for drinks. 

Sam: Alright, take care and see you tomorrow.

Drop someone a line: write a short letter to someone

Noriko: What are you doing?

Sam: Dropping a line to my friend in Norway. Going to send this letter after I finish writing it. 

Hear from someone: receive a phone call, letter, or e-mail from someone.

Tim: Hey friend, what’s new?

John: I heard from my friend the other day. He sent me a message randomly asking how I was doing.
