At school today, I was studying Japanese and discovered something rather interesting.
今日は英会話スクールで日本語を勉強していたのですが、面白いことを発見しました。

Did you know that English and Japanese share about 10% of the same vocabulary? In fact, it is a lot more common than you might think.
英語と日本語は同じ単語が約10%もあるって知っていましたか？

In Japanese, this is referred to as 外来語, or "loanwords" that are borrowed from other countries. Here is a list of some of the most commonly used loanwords. See how many you know!
